About

The Maine Coon is considered to be one of the largest domesticated cat breeds, It has a distinctive physical appearance and valuable hunting skills. It is one of the oldest natural breeds in North America, specifically native to the US state of Maine, where it is the official state cat.

On average, males weigh from 24 to 28 lb, while females can range from 17 to 23 lb. Their body is solid and muscular, which is necessary for supporting their weight, and their chest is broad. Maine Coons possess a rectangular body shape and are slow to physically mature, their full size is normally not reached until they are two to three years old, while the average cat takes about one year to do so.

Maine Coons are relaxed, laid-back and not overly dependent, but on the same time they love to be held and enjoy cuddling with their humans..
